I'm taking a break from my insanity (aka Big Bang) to be a silly fangirl.

Yesterday, I decided I didn't have enough Karl Urban in my life so I bought a copy of Doom. Yes, it can be terrible, but Karl is hot and I need his hotness in my life. I'm sure I will have little Reaper!Bones plot bunnies hopping around in my head for weeks now. ~~Especially if I buy the novelization like I'm planning...~~

I went clothes shopping at Target today and found nothing (as usual) but I did find something interesting. I bought dorky Trek action figures! They're by a company called Funko and they look like weird cartoon versions of Spock and Kirk. I had to buy Spock because the ears are incredible and he'd be lonely without Kirk. (No silkmoth101 that was not me saying that I'm going to slash them! Kirk/Bones is my Trek OTP thank you very much :P ) They didn't make a Bones figure. Grrr!

I started up R2 this afternoon and had one of those spyware programs hijack my computer. After trying a couple of fixes and getting hit with pop ups every 2 minutes, I saved everything I could think of and reformatted.

I backed up my writing files, my icons, and my pics but I don't know if they're infected. So I don't know if I saved any of the new versions of the epic or the Challenge Fic. I hadn't finished anything significant on them so I hadn't sent them to anyone and I can't remember if I have back up anywhere on my external drive.

And just like I expected, I forgot something. i forgot my bookmarks. So I have no backup of all the research I'd done for the Epic and my other stories, stories I was reading, stories I was going to read, and my favorites. All of it gone. POOF.

The concert trip seems to be a no go and my vacation seems to be no go too.

*sighs* Ctrl Alt Delete would be awesome right now.

I did get the Star Trek novelization though. So maybe I should curl up with that and forget about today.

Also, I'm curious. I'm going to do something to back up my favorite fic bookmarks. I'm not exactly sure what to do. I really don't want to sign into anything extra. I'd store them on here, but I hate wading through tags. Does anyone have any ideas?

shadadukal gave me Wedge Antilles, Garik 'Face' Loran, Corran Horn. First off we have the challenge of finding a pic of The Face and Corran. I think I found pics of them all so meme under the cut.

Which one would I marry? Though it's not the greatest picture, I'd marry Garik 'Face' Loran and not because of the shallow reason that he's hot (despite the iffy pic I found). Face has a sense of humor and can be an emo pup, which seems to be one of my main attractions when dealing with men. And the shallow reasons work too. He's hot. He's bad ass. And he'll make you laugh. YUM!

Who would I shag? Wedge Antilles. He's hot but he's a bit too serious for my tastes. My serious nature combined with his would just be too depressing for a long term relationship. But jump him? Oh yeah...I'm sure Wedge would be great in bed. It's probably one of the many reasons he's the Envy of all Corellia.

And who would go off the cliff? Big surprise! The Mary Sue gets to go off the cliff a.k.a. Corran Horn. Actually I don't hate Corran that much. I liked him in I, Jedi though I only find him tolerable in the Rogue books. Anyway, he's the safest one to push off the cliff. There's no way that Lucas' people will let Corran die by being thrown off the cliff. Someone will finally give him the power of levitation or something and he'll be saved.

I'm not even sure if that IS Corran but it came up in most of the image searches I used so if it's not, we'll pretend it is. :D

A Strange Christmas

If anyone's wondered why I've been so quiet lately, here's the reason.

We had a record snow storm. Normally we get two inches of snow on the ground and it's a big deal. This year, we had over a foot. It's the most snow my area has gotten in over 70 years. No one knew how to cope with it and no one was really prepared for it. My family is lucky because my father lived somewhere that got snow like that regularly so he knew what it was like and is one of those people that stock up on things "just in case."

On Christmas Eve we lost power around 9 p.m. The power came back on last night at 9 p.m. Everything got put on hold until today. We haven't opened gifts. We had everything for Christmas dinner shoved in the fridge hoping that it wouldn't spoil. And Dad stayed up for two nights watching over our gas stove to make sure the house didn't get too cold without damaging anything. Dad is awesome! LOL

So a very late Merry Christmas everyone! I haven't caught up on LJ or my mail (snail or email) or anything like that so be patient. I'll get around to it soon. :D

Christmas Wish list

1. For everyone on my flist and their families to have a happy, safe holiday (whatever holiday you celebrate).

4. Icons! I love icons. I collect them obsessively. The fandoms I collect them from are related to Supernatural, Smallville, Star Wars, and most things Catwoman (not Halle Berry please!). I also like pretty stock ones for random situations where fandom pretties aren't necessary.

5. Graphics for my new community. I would love to have a header and maybe some matching icons for feelgoodfic. I'm not really sure what the images would be since it's a multi-fandom community, but something shiny would be wonderful!

6. Drabbles/fic/whatever. I'm always amazed when people can do little fics for the holidays for others. I suck at that sort of thing, so I love it when people do something like that for others.

7. Pic spam! Pictures are inspiring. They keep the Muses happy, which keeps Selina happy. ;)

8. Fic recs! I have a rec community or will have one running soon. I would love to have people rec happy things either there or on my LJ.

9. Shiny graphics for my LJ.

Here it is! feelgoodfic . My new community to post recs for fics that you enjoyed reading and made your day a little bit better.

It still needs some work and I'm sure I'll be changing things like the layout for the next few days, but it's done and it has its first post. I'll be posting some of my favorite stories too as soon as I find my bookmarks (the frustrations of reformatting) but it's together. :D I'm also going to need some new banners eventually, but this one will work for now.
