If anyone's wondered why I've been so quiet lately, here's the reason.

We had a record snow storm.  Normally we get two inches of snow on the ground and it's a big deal.  This year, we had over a foot.  It's the most snow my area has gotten in over 70 years.  No one knew how to cope with it and no one was really prepared for it.  My family is lucky because my father lived somewhere that got snow like that regularly so he knew what it was like and is one of those people that stock up on things "just in case." 

On Christmas Eve we lost power around 9 p.m.  The power came back on last night at 9 p.m.  Everything got put on hold until today.  We haven't opened gifts.  We had everything for Christmas dinner shoved in the fridge hoping that it wouldn't spoil.  And Dad stayed up for two nights watching over our gas stove to make sure the house didn't get too cold without damaging anything.  Dad is awesome! LOL

So a very late Merry Christmas everyone!  I haven't caught up on LJ or my mail (snail or email) or anything like that so be patient.  I'll get around to it soon. :D

Another Christmas Miracle

Here it is!  feelgoodfic .  My new community to post recs for fics that you enjoyed reading and made your day a little bit better.

It still needs some work and I'm sure I'll be changing things like the layout for the next few days, but it's done and it has its first post.  I'll be posting some of my favorite stories too as soon as I find my bookmarks (the frustrations of reformatting) but it's together.  :D  I'm also going to need some new banners eventually, but this one will work for now.

I don't have a icon that is properly festive for the holiday, but I 'm sure no one minds a cupcake or three. ;)

Yesterday, I was rushing in fifty different directions and forgot to post a thanks to my wonderful betas danceswithgary and Jay.  This error was because of temporary (or not so temporary) insanity.  I woke up this morning and thought Oh no!  And rushed online to fix that mistake.

I will be commenting on the feedback I recieved yesterday for my fic (soon I hope!).  But I wanted to say a quick thank you before then.  I never expected so many people to read and comment.  I had a kinda bad day at work yesterday, a busy one today, then came online to find all these wonderful comments in my inbox.  It's made my day!

I've been on a Chloe kick lately and she's been my ebil Muse mastermind, so I asked Hils if she'd seen any stills with Chloe at the computer so I could make an icon that said "ebil genius at work."  She was kind enough to make one for me today!  She also made me an icon of Chloe with a really cute hairstyle that has her looking thoughtful.  I love my Cute!Chloe icons!
